- Health is the result of a relationship between the practitioner and patient with the goal being more healthful living through improved relationships, nutritional habits, constructive exercise, stress management, etc.
- The practitioner in this model not only treats disease/illness but also facilitates optimal health through patient education.
The mission of Epoka University Health Services is to meet, in an exemplary manner, the needs of the Epoka University Community; to care those who are sick, and to educate the community about health and health care issues.
The goal is to provide you an opportunity to learn about and develop health enhancing practices that will remain with you throughout your life. Here are some basic beliefs about health that guide us in the implementation of this approach.
Being in good health is important to maintaining good academic standing, as well as quality of life. A healthy lifestyle includes the following three components:
A Healthy Body - diet, exercise, rest, disease prevention
A Healthy Mind - fun, exercise, relaxation, stress management
A Healthy Environment - social supports, community involvement, personal safety
